all potty pwained!

potty training miriam has not been easy. she has been capable, but refusing, for about a year. how do you motivate someone? this is a question that is relevant in my extended family, and i don't know the answer. but it is easier with 3 year olds. turns out miriam is very motivated by my little pony stickers. she was also afraid of the big potty, so we had struck a compromise: when we went out she would tell me when she needed to go, and we would go to the bathroom where i would put a diaper on her and she would use it. then we would put her undies back on. she wore a diaper at night too, which i figured was necessary because she always got up wet. but in the mornings i couldnt get her to take it off, she wanted to wear it all day. well last saturday i changed her last poopy diaper. i kept telling her to take the diaper off, and she didn't do it, until she finally pooped in it. i told her I hope she enjoyed it because it was her very last one. i bought some extra supplies for the bed (waterproof cover so i could layer, sheet, cover, sheet for easy night time cleanups) and she hasn't been in a diaper since. and she isn't wetting the bed very often! 2 nights of wet sheets and none since. Im so happy! congratulations miriam, this is a big step. =>
