straight from the y chromosome

so tonight for dinner we had steak and potatoes and peas (yeah, yeah, not exactly balanced but i didn't have any other vegetables) and alex was gobbling down everything in front of him. he especially loved the peas. as soon as he finished his first helping he started complaining. i dumped the rest of the bowl onto his high chair and he scarfed it, then started complaining again. i gave him what was left on my plate and then asked the kids if they were going to finish theirs. miriam said she wanted hers, but connor said, "he can have mine." looking at his plate, i see that he hasn't eaten even one of them. so i asked "you aren't going to eat any?" he said "nope" and i said "but you love peas, why not?" his answer? (so classic) "if i have steak, why would i eat peas?"

what a man!!!!

I would have just e-mailed...but my messages don't seem to get through your box.

On Seton...Something tells me you would have to totally customize your book list, since your oldest is soooooo ahead of the game from his peers...from what I've heard ;)

While we do have most of the "standard" books from C's grade level, P's book list have been tailored to meet his needs, and we've got books for him from both 1st and 2nd grade, as well as two supplimentry courses (in vocab and comprehension). I had to go through all the sylibi and rewrite a lot of stuff to customize his stuff. So in some ways it's laid out and in other ways it's not. Math is also freelancing. We might try their 2nd grade Seton book...or stick with MUS, depending upon how the first quarter goes (after we've "hopefully" finished his MUS book from last year). Mostly, I just wanted to get a taste of something a little different while they're still relatively young. Fun stuff!
