crazy spring and onto summer

We had a crazy spring. it was totally insane. the kids had so many activities that j and i frequently had to split up to run one in one direction and one in another. it didn't seem impossible when i signed everyone up for said activities, its just that they all landed on the same days of the week. oh, i knew j would be home for the spring, otherwise i would not have even dared. so connor had guitar lessons (T 5:30) track (T, Th 6-7; Sat meets 8-12 or 12-4) boy scouts (Th 7-8:30, plus service projects, plus monthly weekend campouts), robotics club at school (1st and 3rd T 3:15-5) and then starting in april swim lessons (W 3:45-4:15).  Miriam had daisy scouts (one tues a month 3:15-4:15) soccer (practice Th 6-7, games all over the calendar) and piano (M 4:30). ok now that i see it like that, it does seem impossible. thing was, they didn't start everything at the same time. robotics and daisies were all year. connor crossed over into boy scouts from cub scouts in feb. the music lessons started in jan. then soccer and track were just 10 week spring sports. There were many days this spring when i made dinner in the morning because there wasn't time in the evening. there were many many days this spring when i felt like everything i did all day was in preparation for evening activities (such as finding/washing uniforms, buying camping gear, and packing for campouts) And then my sister came to visit with her new baby (YAY!) right into those very hectic last days of school. then she was here, and we were readying connor for his weeklong summer camp, and then like that, connor was gone, melissa and austin were gone, j was at work, and boom--there was nothing to do. its been so. weird. i've worked really hard to keep very busy, because if i don't, alex gets stir crazy by 10 am and goes on a punching rampage. so last week, we went to the pool, the gym, the park, and the childrens museum. and today i picked up connor from camp. (yay!) today it feels like summer.
