still dry

I still don't have any funny stories to tell or anything. have been feeling a little lost. we have taken the past 3 weeks completely off from school, and i have been trying to do some spring (ahem...) summer cleaning. i realized last month that I am approaching the longest that i have lived in one house since i moved from my parents house 12 (WOW!) years ago. there was dorm room 1 (9 mo), dorm room 2 (9mo), apartment 1 (12 mo), apartment 2 (10 mo), a wedding, apartment 3 (12 mo) and apartment 4 (4mo), then cute little house in pasadena (18mo), parents house (6mo), base housing in florida (21 mo), rented house in san antonio (15mo) and finally here (17mo so far.) So only a few more months and we will be breaking records. this is probably why i am starting to feel antsy in this house. I am looking at it thinking that it needs a 'move out' cleaning. Im not a great housekeeper. luckily my identity and self worth don't lie in this facet of my life or i would be one depressed person. so cleaning is always a chore that isn't very efficient and is never completed in my house. oh well. But we are going to get back to school on the summer schedule-2 days a week. i have two goals in mind here: for connor to not forget everything he learned last year, and to finish up the history we didn't finish because i had a baby. i don't want summer school to feel cumbersome, so im not setting specific days of the week, we will just do it the days we are home. hopefully it will work! i am thinking about next year-what when and having a schedule. im not a huge scheduler. but i really think having at least a weekly game plan will help me feel less stressed that we aren't accomplishing something. one of my shortcomings is that i don't completely trust us-that we will 'do it right.' i think this makes me push a little too hard sometimes in the subjects in which i can easily see progress, such as math and spelling. they are primarily out of a workbook, so i can see that the work is getting done and i have a tendency to get worried about how much of it is getting done and i have to often take a step back and think about what he is actually learning and getting out of the material. anyway, planning for next year is a big undertaking, and i started a month ago, but only half heartedly, so its time to "getter done" (thats a very popular phrase around here.)
