homecoming

we took one of the longest vacations ever last month. we went to san diego, which is where i grew up, and is my favorite place in the world. of course, you wonder, what about your husbands arms, or some other sap like that? obviously i live in ne with my family, but i love san diego and if i had a choice that would be my home. dont feel sorry for me, im just trying to describe my attachment to that place. almost everything about it makes me feel happy. i love the weather and the palm trees and the mountains and the smell in the air and the beach and the native plants and the non native but extremely well growing eucalyptus and the freeways and caltrans (miss them when in another state) and the general feeling of well being that i get when in the same county as my extended family.

connor always has a grieving period when he gets home, as do i, and that part of vacationing is awful. he doesn't want to come home and he is miserable for a little while. miriam is too small, and i think too attached to her own house to mind as much. i miss my family.

but i am really glad to see my husband, and he seems happy to see us, especially the kiddos. =>
