halloween

i didn't realize this year that halloween was before the loss of daylight savings time (may you rest until peace until next year.) But being the first time we have lived this far north, it was also the first year that the days were so short already. so on halloween everyone was commenting about how great it was that they could see the kids costumes at 6 pm. it was dark before 7 that night, and now is dark before 6. i wish that the clinic here had access to SAD lights, because I think I could really use them. i feel myself just lose energy and everything when there is less sun. (but who am i kidding? I would never find a minute to go.)I am enjoying the cold, but by that i mean the 55 deg days. today its a high of 42 or something, and that is a little much for me. at 8 mo pregnant i don't have appropriate clothing for 40 deg weather, so i can't really stay out in it. i can go to the car and then into wheverever i need to go, but i can't go to the park with the kids. all i want to eat is starch and sugar, funny how much your tastes change. i dont crave fruit anymore like i did so intently this summer.

we had a fun halloween miriam dressed up as a horsey and connor as optimus prime, they had a good time trick or treating and they loved to hand out candy during the break we took. we watched charlie brown and the great pumpkin and ate pizza and just felt joyful. =>
