birthday menu
So with minimal oversight, i allowed miriam to pick what we (well, at least she) is eating today. i think her choices are appropriate for a small girl given free reign, but also pretty funny. Breakfast: lucky charms (i had to buy it specially for this) Lunch: pizza and cherry coke (a RARE treat indeed, because you do not want to see that child on caffeine) Dinner "big juicy steak," and macaroni and cheese. she requested cheeseburgers with dinner, but that was when i said no, we are not having steak and cheeseburgers! her cake she designed: chocolate cake, chocolate frosting with vanilla filling. "?" i said to myself. but i found a recipe for 'creme anglaise' in the cake bible which will hopefully thicken up enough to spread in between the layers. right now it is still too gooey. happy birthday miriam!!!

So does she get steak or burgers? Midwest girls need their meat, you know....
Cheeseburgers sounds more like her, big juicy steak sounds more like tampering from her aunt. =p

oh, it was steak that i made, and mom asked the same question "did nina put her up to it?" she didn't touch the steak after all, just ate a bucket full of maccy. the cake turned out just fine, too, the cream filling just soaked into the cake.
Happy Birthday Mims! Her menu sounds most excellent, might I add. Hmm. Now I'm hungry! ;)
