this didn't happen to me, but i heard the story later, and someone (you know who you are) wants the story here.
in san diego miriam was sitting on the back porch talking to tony and nadia, and they were playing a guessing game. miriam loves designing these games. she was insisting that they use the words correct and incorrect instead of right and wrong or yup and nope. she decided they should guess each others favorite dessert, and tony and nadia are very accomodating. so nadia went first, and whatever miriam guessed, cake i think, nadia told her "correct."
then tony and nadia took their turn guessing miriam's favorite. i don't remember the details, im sure that they got a few "incorrects" using her finger to point down and then the "correct!"
so it was the girls turn to guess tony's favorite dessert. nadia went first and guessed apple pie. tony, of course, told her "incorrect" with the proper inflection and finger pointing, intending to tell miriam that she was correct no matter what she guessed.
miriam tapped her index finger on her cheek, which is how she shows she is deep in thought and explained this "sometimes, my brain tells me things. sometimes my brain tells me things that it doesn't know. sometimes it tells me things that i don't know. right now its telling me that your favorite is apple pie, so you are incorrect."
