i think they have fifth disease

thats a weird name for a virus that causes a fever and a rash primarily. alex had the fever but it has been gone for a day or two. i noticed the very pink cheeks, but they make sense with a fever. they didn't subside until this morning. in fact, last night i thought that he must have hit them on something they were so pink. then today he has this rash that looks like teeny bug bites and it comes and goes in the strangest fashion! one minute its there, the next its somewhere else-shoulder blades, then knees, then tummy, then chin, then feet, then a new spot on the back. today miriam has the fever and pink cheeks. and if it is fifth diseases, and i had/have it too, that would explain the random joint pain i have had these last few days. good/bad news is all you can do is wait it out. so armed with that information, i am not taking alex to an urgent care to check out his magical disappearing-reappearing rash. i hate seeking medical advice. i detest emergency rooms.
